BASIC PURPOSE:

Truck Care Cashiers help run our business by providing excellent customer service while operating the cash registers, inputting and verifying service orders, stocking merchandise, and light housekeeping duties. 

 

Truck Care Cashiers perform various daily customer services tasks by operating the cash register and assisting customers. Inputting work order information into POS system and then verifying accuracy of services performed. This may also include some basic housekeeping tasks around the location such as sweeping and mopping, cleaning restroom areas, and other tasks as assigned

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers as you see them, speak politely, and assist customers
  • First point of contact with customers in the lobby and connect customers with service specialist to identify services needed
  • Accurately input work order information into POS and verify accuracy of services performed
  • Operate a cash register and maintain an accurate and organized drawer
  • Collect and close out pending invoices
  • Ability to communicate with fleet maintenance departments to obtain work authorizations and/or purchase orders
  • Answer phones promptly and address customer needs quickly using proper phone etiquette
  • Interface with multiple electronic platforms to ensure clear and concise communication
  • Stock and face merchandise in customer area
  • Perform customer area & restroom maintenance such as but not limited to; detail cleaning toilets, sweeping/mopping floors, mirrors and doors, service trash cans, and wipe excess oil off counters, doors, windows
  • Perform weekly and monthly projects
  • Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards
  • Maintain a safe facility and use safety first practices to remain accident-free
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience:
    • 6 months retail and cash handling experience preferred
    • Trucking industry experience preferred

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Ability to learn and operate a casher register; Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping tasks in customer area: Ability to navigate safely in service bay
    • Soft Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to talk and hear
    • Requires standing and walking, with some bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
    • Occasional light lifting not over 100lbs
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

 

 

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally, the employee will also be exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. While performing the duties, the employee is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, and human waste
