Love's has a long history of commitment to our military veterans. On May 31 2018, the team at Love's 475 truly embodied that commitment as the Patriot Guard riders rolled into the parking lot in Sweetwater. The Patriot Guard riders and the Missing in America Project work together to identify the unclaimed remains of American veterans and provide them with the dignified burial they deserve. It's a worthy cause that Love's general manager, Robert Tygart, was proud to get behind.
Love's was proud to support the Patriot Guard riders with more than a thousand dollars in fuel as they traveled...
A brave high school senior was forever changed by the horrific terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Michelle Ballard – today, an affirmative action specialist at Love’s – enlisted in the United States Air Force the next day.
Being in high school did not hold her back. Ballard was part of the DEP, which means delayed enlistment program. Her Air Force recruiter would check in with Ballard once a month. She would participate in PT practice. Ballard would even help the Air Force recruiters proctor the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) at high schools.
The military is in Love's District Manager Dave Hanson's blood. Hanson is a third-generation veteran. His parents were in the United States Air Force, one grandfather is a United States Navy veteran, and the other served in the United States Army.
"I will always cherish my time in the Army," Hanson said. "The comradery - it was a combination of self-reliance and the dependence on the people around you. That stays with you."
To each and every veteran, thank you for all you sacrificed for our country.
