BASIC PURPOSE: The Senior Manager, Accounting position is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting aspects of Trillium, including managing the Trillium accounting staff. This includes developing and improving Trillium’s accounting processes and controls. Principal accountabilities are:
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial operations of the accounting business units within Trillium
- Technical accounting research including staying current on generally accepted accounting standards
- Supervise the entire periodic close process, including the review and analysis of the periodic financial statements
- Oversee the compilation and issuance of financial information
- Compile report of financial results for dissemination to the Office of the Chairman, business unit leaders, capital partners and key vendors
- Support required compliance reporting is satisfied and ensure applicable GAAP accounting guidance is followed
- Assist in the capital request and budgeting processes
- Managing reporting of performance measures
- Manage any third parties to which accounting functions have been outsourced
- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
- Implement industry best practices
- Construct and monitor reliable accounting and financial reporting controls
- Ensure that the company complies with relevant accounting and financial reporting regulatory requirements, including that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Serve as key liaison with external auditors including primary responsibility for facilitating the annual audit and relevant periodic reviews and related financial reporting
- Participate in periodic financial and operations update to the capital partners
- Managing the accounting team, including focus on team’s career development and continuity
- Other duties as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
- CPA designation preferred

- Experience:
-
- 8-10+ years’ progressively responsible experience in accounting for a major company or public accounting firm
- 8-10+ years’ experience in leading high performance teams
- Preferred candidate would have experience in retail and/or energy sector.

- Proficient Hard skills: Knowledge in Microsoft Office, emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint, personal productivity software, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Soft Skills- innovator, good verbal and written communication skills, strong project management skills, strong organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, ability to take constructive criticism and strong work ethic.
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
