BASIC PURPOSE: This position validates new third-party trades, upon execution, with the contracting party and broker.  The analyst is also responsible for the generation of Musket trade confirmations and correspondence with counterparties.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Timely generation and distribution of trade confirmations to relevant parties
  • Interact regularly with brokers, counterparties, traders, and analysts to resolve discrepancies or disputed trade terms
  • Evaluate incoming counterparty confirmations for accuracy
  • Daily reconciliation of new trades, including key trade terms
  • Collaboration with Front- and Middle-Office teams to correct errors in trade capture
  • Timely and thorough collection of data and written responses to audit requests
  • Work with all departments to ensure contracts are complete and accurate (amendments, revisions and expiration of contracts, General Terms and Conditions language)
  • Thorough review of every confirmation for commercial terms (Buyer, Seller, price, quantity, product, terms and delivery location and timing)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a contract administration or legal support role preferred
  • Experience in a trading organization, financial services, or legal firm preferred
  • Experience with oil, refined products, NGL, and/or biofuel markets preferred 

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Understanding of or interest in commodity/energy markets
  • Proven organization and time-management/prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with RightAngle or other ETRM system and/or ICE eConfirm preferred

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
