Accounting Supervisor - Back Office

BASIC PURPOSE: The basic purpose of this position is to supervise the settlements, cash reporting and accounting reporting processes, and assist the Manager with Financial Statement analysis and variance analysis/explanation.



  • Supervise the settlements and cash clearing components of the periodic close process (monthly/annual)
  • Review/Approve cash clearing and additional A/R and A/P accrual journal entries for Musket
  • Review and analyze the Musket Mexico monthly financial statements, preparing explanations for significant changes
  • Develop settlement accountants, including career development and team continuity
  • Monitor the settlement transactions in Solarc RightAngle to ensure accuracy/completeness
  • Review monthly balance sheet workpapers related to the areas supervised – prepare if necessary for the account
  • Interact with external auditors to assist with completing the year-end audit
  • Prepare variance analysis and explanations monthly/quarterly/annually for assigned areas
  • Other duties assigned as needed


  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Experience:
    • 5-7 years’ experience in corporate accounting; energy industry & Solarc RightAngle experience a plus


  • Skills:
    • Team building and Leadership, including staff/bench strength development
    • Collaboration/Conflict Management – Ability to work with other teams to create/improve processes
    • Ability to manage numerous competing demands with tight timelines
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel


  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
