BASIC PURPOSE: The purpose of this role is to assist with operating the terminal facility consistent with all Hazmat, DOT, OSHA and FRA regulations while maintaining a superior level of customer service. Also, this role is to ensure transfer of fuel in and out of the facility while keeping safety a priority.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all state, federal and local legal requirements by helping with gasoline and diesel inventories.
- Completes daily paperwork, including but not limited to railcar inspections and daily inspections.
- Performs daily terminal inspections to assure cleanliness and operation efficiency.
- Complies with FRA rules and regulations when it comes to unloading activities.
- Performs railcar inspections and recognizes any issues that may arise.
- Monitors all loading procedures within the crew.
- Documents all carrier and proprietary related incidents to terminal manager.
- Documents and relays Gemini concerns/ issues to terminal manager.
- Responds to emergency situations at the terminal.
- Assists with all terminal maintenance and some repairs, which may include but are not limited to painting, cleaning, railroad track maintenance etc.
- Ensures loading rack is in a good working condition at all times.
- Monitors tank farm on a daily basis for leaks and for other security purposes.
- Perform daily terminal inspections to assure cleanliness and operation efficiency.
- Provides high level of customer service by relaying any concerns from rail or carriers to terminal manager.
- Follows safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Supports other terminals when needed
- Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience at a loading/unloading facility is preferred
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Hard Skills: Working knowledge of DOT, Hazmat, OSHA, and FRA regulations
- Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, data entry, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self motivated, good time management skill, ability to multitask and excellent analytical skills
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
- Occasional lifting up to 70 pounds
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
- Must be able to climb up and down railcars
- Valid driver’s license
