Videographer/Writer

BASIC PURPOSE: The Videographer/Writer position is a key role on the communications team at Love’s. This skilled individual creates engaging video for internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include full understanding and execution of best practices in shooting footage, conducting interviews, producing optimal audio, writing, editing, and packaging a final product. Collaboration on the communications team, with various departments across the company, and with executive leaders is crucial in this role. Working some nights, weekends and travel is expected.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Video, audio and motion graphic production, including concepting, storyboarding, planning, shooting, organization and lighting of video shoots, creating graphics, editing, color correction, compression and encoding of videos, and digital asset management for the communications department and other departments within the Love’s Family of Companies as needed.
  • Edits all videos (and all other post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and/or other industry standard software).
  • Effectively interprets needs and develops creative/technical solutions.
  • Stays informed and up to date on best practices and tools in the video space.
  • Troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance on video, audio and lighting equipment.
  • Makes recommendations for software and equipment purchases.
  • Assists communications team in writing blogs, scripts, and social media posts as needed.
  • Prepares video for archive purposes and maintains a central, organized storage program.
  • Attends weekly team meetings and contributes ideas for communications campaigns.
  • Develops video content ideas.
  • Maintains shared team video calendar including appointments, project deadlines and meetings.

     

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor’s degree preferred in relevant field of study
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1-2 years videography experience, preferably in a corporate setting

       

       

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, video production equipment, software and editing tools
    •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage numerous competing demands. Must possess strong collaboration skills and interpersonal skills with ability to accept input from other team members.

       

  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
