Love's is hiring immediately for the Data Center Platform Services Supervisor role. This systems engineering supervisor will oversee the team responsible for implementing, maintaining, and coordinating infrastructure hardware and services, both on premise and through cloud service providers. The datacenter supervisor must have experience with data center management and processes, platform engineering, virtualization, infrastructure management and infrastrcuture hardware, and data center metrics and documentation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and Management
- As the data center and systems administrator supervisor, you will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Systems Administrators and Application Development Administrators.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Infrastructure Platform and Application Development Operations
- As the IT Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations and maintenance of infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, Windows and Linux operating systems instances, etc.).
- As the IT Platform Operations Supervisor, you will ensure platforms are optimized for performance, security, and reliability.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for platform management.
- Supervise the continuous development, deployments, and maintenance of incremental software updates, ensuring stability and reliability.
- Review application requirements and anticipate system needs to ensure availability and scalability of systems.
- Troubleshoot code and assist with the resolution of coding issues.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for platform operations teams.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Operational Supervision:
- Oversee day-to-day activities of platform operations teams.
- Track ticket queues, assign tasks, and collect metrics as needed.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and maintain best practices for platform management and operations.
- Ability to handle escalated situations on a 24/7 basis; ability to be on-call.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other IT leaders, business units, and external partners to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Ensure smooth data center management and project management.
- Communicate performance, problems/incidents, and resolutions to stakeholders.
- Prepare and present operational reports, proposals, and documentation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT systems or platform operations, or related roles.
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience with IT Project Management preferred.
SKILLS:
- Skills:
- Tracking budget expenses, quality supervision, overseeing processes, organization, communication processes, coaching and providing feedback to employees, motivating others, promoting process improvement, reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals and groups.
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of enterprise systems administration, including virtualization and Windows and Linux operating systems management.
- Proficiency in administering resources on cloud platforms and infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with VMware vCenter server management software.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology.
- Experience with enterprise compute and storage systems in a datacenter environment.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, for ticketing and change requests.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., ScienceLogic, Application Dynamics, Splunk)
Hybrid work-schedule: 3 workdays will be onsite at the corporate office in Oklahoma City, and 2 workdays can be remote. Ability to be on-call and handle escalated situations.
