Supervisor of Operations Accounting

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Supervisor of Operations Accounting position is to provide oversight over the ops accounting AR function including but not limited to GL accounts, workpapers, non-fuel rebates, fleet reconciliation, and reporting inclusive of staffing and administrative functions therein.  



        Oversee the Rebate Function for Accounting

  • Work with Merchandising and others to ensure rebates are correct, cleared, distributed, and exceptions are communicated and resolved timely
  • Work with Vendors and others to ensure rebates are correct, paid, and exceptions are communicated and resolved timely
  • Work with VL team to aid in the continued build out and maintenance of the VL Rebate platform
  • Work with SAP and other internal IT teams to aid in the continued build out and maintenance of the Merchandise rebate accounting system
  • Develop and prepare Internal and External KPI’s and Reporting as needed to present to internal or external parties
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all Monthend rebate functions to ensure an accurate PL
  • Supervise the Daily Activities of the Rebate Coordinator

  Oversee the General AR Accounting Function for OPS Accounting across all Loves Companies

  • Ensure all monthly entries are timely and accurate
  • Ensure processes are built out, in place, and documented to account for all related Funded AR, Gift Liability, and other miscellaneous functions assigned to OPS Accounting
  • Ensure Workpapers are properly maintained with sufficient levels of backup and documentation to withstand audit scrutiny
  • Ensure Integrity of all assigned reporting through either direct creation or review
  • Supervise the Daily Activities of the Ops Accounting Staff Accountant role

        Oversee the Fleet Reconciliation Function

  • Assume product ownership of the Reconciliation tool
  • Ensure all Fleet Card reconciliations are accurate, timely, and complete
  • Ensure exception handling is defined and handled appropriately adjusting processes as need to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure all possible file needs are accounted for such that the highest percentage of transactions are validated
  • Create and Maintain reporting needs
  • Supervise the Daily Activities of the Fleet Reconciliation Coordinator team
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • CPA or Eligible preferred
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years relevant work experience
    • Supervisory experience preferred, this role has 6 direct reports



  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel
    • MS Access Knowledge is a plus
    • Ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Experience with SAP or similar ERP required
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
