Sr. Manager of Financial Services Accounting

BASIC PURPOSE: Oversees and manages the accounting for Love’s Financial Services business, a fast-growing company providing freight factoring and working capital solutions to the transportation industry. Duties include oversight for month-end closing, financial/performance reporting, budgeting, business analysis, workpaper reconciliations and audits. Ensures accounting records, internal controls and related entries are done accurately, timely and efficiently. Serves as the primary resource and expert for Financial Services accounting.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and analyze relevant monthly and quarterly financial statements within Cadence, WinFactor and SAP and other reports for management and operations as required.
• Interface with shared service accounting departments on all Love’s Financial Services accounting matters.
• Support and work directly with Love’s Financial Services management on accounting processes and special projects.
• Prepare account reconciliations by set deadlines, analyze for accuracy and make necessary corrections.
• Manage, coach and set goals for Love’s Financial Services accounting employees.
• Oversee day to day transaction processing in Love’s Financial Services accounting systems.
• Process journal entries in SAP.
• Perform daily balancing verifications of systems and banks.
• Perform business analysis; maintain and report company metrics.
• Lead the annual operating budget process.
• Assist in due diligence and ensure appropriate accounting treatment for new acquisitions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

• Accounting degree required; CPA preferred.

Experience:

• Relevant accounting experience required.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel, ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.
• Understanding of financial transactions.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Detail oriented; ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a fast pace environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
