Sr. Business Systems Analyst - Supply Chain

BASIC PURPOSE: Working as part of the IT Supply Chain and Distribution team this position will focus on supply chain domain expertise that will be leveraged to understand business needs and work with technical/business internal and external resources to deliver solutions, by performing business analysis activities for the Supply Chain organization, including requirements elicitation, tracking, clarification and communication, specification writing, recommending, and validating solutions, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.  The Senior Business Systems Analyst is expected to work on delivery of new solutions/projects (approximately 75%) and solution/business support (approximately 25%).

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and document as-is and to-be processes, data, and systems utilizing appropriate diagramming and documentation methodologies.
  • Elicit, communicate, and manage requirements.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of supply chain and product lifecycle domain, including business processes and relevant systems that support them.
  • Ability to perform feasibility analysis and solution assessments to evaluate and recommend solutions.
  • Understand integration points between internal and external systems relevant to business processes and systems supported within the supply chain organization (SAP TM, SAP WM, Dispatch Solutions, SAP PTP(MM), SAP SD, BlueYonder-Luminate, JDA Space Planning, and others)
  • Ensure that quality standards are met relevant to documentation and solution delivery – complete solution specifications and functional design documents, acceptance criteria in user stories and other forms of requirement’s documentation.
  • Work with technical resources to deliver solutions, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for improvement, including error handling and monitoring.
  • Understand master data and transactional data that is relevant for the supply chain functions to determine mapping requirements for integrations, reporting, etc.
  • Assist end users with issues, troubleshooting, training, and other needs relevant to them performing work.
  • Work independently to support supply chain business partners relevant to solutions in scope of work.
  • Work with some guidance on large scale projects and in cross-functional teams to produce work deliverables to meet designated tasks and timelines.
  • Work independently on small to medium scale projects within the Supply Chain functional area, with ability to identify necessary tasks to complete, estimate effort, complete work and present deliverables to Lead and Manager for review
  • Creation and execution of test plans and scripts in support of solution delivery
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and recommend resolutions.
  • Ability to work with IT leads to prioritize work, communicate business needs, and effectively communicate solution options and risks
  • Clearly communicate work status to business leads, manager, and other stakeholders
  • Work on project delivery and support once solutions are in production
  • Identify tasks and resources necessary to engage in delivery of solutions
  • Identify error handling required to monitor solutions
  • Identify trends and exceptions in processes and make recommendations for course of action
  • Identify risks and opportunities within solutions and projects
  • Serve as a mentor to less-tenured analysts
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • 7 + years experience as a business analyst
    • 5 + years experience in supply chain preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

 

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and solutions, including purchasing, distribution, warehouse operations, materials management, dispatch, etc.
    • Critical thinking and root cause analysis
    • Facilitation and communication skills, including ability to communicate according to audience.
    • Typical line of communication is at the peer level and to direct supervisor/manager within the IT organization and across levels within the business areas supported.
    • Ability to be flexible in an ambiguous environment.
    • Ability to work within resource and time constraints on multiple assignments.
    • Ability to manage 50+ emails per day.
    • Ability to proficiently execute job responsibilities independently on numerous assignments of critical nature.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of tools, including Office, Visio, Project, Azure DevOps
    • Experience in diagramming techniques and technology (Visio, Lucidchart) to support clarification and communication of requirements.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
    • Requires occasional visits to warehouse and production facilities with exposure to loud noises.
