Sr Retail Data Analyst

BASIC PURPOSE: Sr Retail Data Analyst role is to develop, support, maintain application systems, and communications methodologies. The person will be required to troubleshoot issues related to Store, Floor Planning, Assortment Planning and related applications, as well as, on-shelf communications as required to meet merchandising objectives.  Will be responsible for developing Analytics metrics and discern actionable items from the data.  This person will need to have great communication skills to drive the actionable items out to the rest of the organization.  Must leverage personal knowledge base and become a subject matter expert with these and other supporting systems. Build relationships with; application driven support personnel, Love’s internal support teams, merchandising category management team, suppliers, and feel comfortable holding them accountable in support of objectives. 


  • Utilize / Develop data metrics around store assortments and space allocation
  • Develop Best practices on reporting actionable information to the organization and outside suppliers
  • Allocating space to new Store builds as well as remodels
  • Become subject matter expert for categories assigned for Space and Floor Planning
  • Lead implementation, development, and on-going business process support of Store, Floor and Assortment planning initiatives
  • Responsible for upgrades and regular system maintenance
  • Build relationships with IT personnel or responsible parties of our trading partners
  • Seek the synergy of other departments in setting and achieving cost saving goals and benefits
  • Other duties assigned as business needs arise



  • Education:
    • College Degree in Business Related Major preferred and/or 5 years equivalent work experience
  • Experience:
    • Previous Planogram software application experience preferred
    • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise retail merchandise and foodservice pricebook applications
    • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
    • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures
    • Knowledge of industry trends in technology and determine “Best Practices”
    • Previous COGNOS, Microsoft SQL server, and Tableau experience preferred
