BASIC PURPOSE: The Senior FP&A Analyst will perform financial analysis to measure the profitability of existing or prospective business activities and make recommendations on allocating capital. Applicants should be comfortable collaborating and taking ownership of open-ended projects, working with cross-functional teams, and communicating the appropriate level of detail to management.

                                                                                                                

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of financial analysis projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to complete projects within timeframes communicated to management
  • Work with cross-functional teams to measure the profitability of existing or prospective business activities, developing and communicating requirements for new reporting to development teams as needed
  • Throughout the course of analysis, identify important financial trends, and provide recommendations to management on optimizing current or prospective business activities
  • Organize and report on large data sets using Excel and other tools, as necessitated by project goals
  • Work with vendors and 3rd parties to evaluate the financial implications of new agreements or service arrangements, and/or the accuracy of 3rd party cost or savings estimates
  • Work to improve and formalize multi-year financial forecasting models for the Love’s family of companies
  • Identify important information contained in the public financial statements and earnings calls of peers, strategic customers, or strategic suppliers
  • Develop pro-forma financial valuation models for prospective projects or acquisitions
  • Perform due diligence for prospective acquisitions as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

     

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA or CFA a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of previous accounting, finance, or analysis experience required.
    • Previous exposure to, or willingness to learn, basics of SQL a plus.

 

     SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hard Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.
    • Advanced Excel skills: if statements, index/match, parsing large sets of irregular data, developing financial models with flexible inputs
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex financial analysis to senior management
    • Ability to maintain a workload while working with a diverse set of other functions. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; teamwork and time management skills; must be reliable and able to meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
