Senior Project Manager

BASIC PURPOSE: Love’s has a unique job opportunity for an individual with cross-functional project management experience to join our IT Workforce Technology team. This individual will work on a variety of IT projects that will help to transform our internal business applications into true digital workspace solutions. The ideal candidate would have experience with waterfall and agile project management around Office 365, Web-based applications, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, execute, and finalize complex technical projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management in collaboration with other IT teams.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end using an Agile or Waterfall approach
  • Assist in evaluating, recommending, configuring and designing solutions that address business needs and/or improve existing capabilities.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate with various business stakeholders to identify needs and create user stories.
  • Work with Business and Technical teams to estimate resources needed to achieve project goals.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using Love’s project management tools.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage issues, conflicts within the project team, project dependencies and critical path.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report.
  • Support application end users through troubleshooting, technical support, and training.
  • Create and maintain documentation on work completed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, MIS, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
    • PMP certification is preferred; CBAP, ITIL and scrum master certifications are a nice to have
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of Information Technology support of Web-based and/or .NET applications, SaaS solutions, mobile experience, and Office 365
    • 7+ years of work experience as project manager / business analyst
    • ServiceNow Implementation experience is preferred.
    • Experience working in a Helpdesk support role.
    • Working knowledge of Information Governance and Records Management Programs.
    • Experience conducting research into project related issues and products.

     

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hard Skills:
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, O365, SharePoint or similar technologies.
    • Ability to leverage or develop models for calculating ROI for various initiatives.
    • Familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps and Visio
    • Knowledge of project management and development lifecycle processes
    • Capable of conducting requirement elicitation activities from meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, team player and customer service skills.
    • Ability to stay organized and be detail oriented.
    • Self-motivated with ability to create and to follow organizational processes and procedures.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Ability to analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies and propose better solutions.
    • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and conditions, quickly learn new software solutions and improve business process using those solutions.
    • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments and budgets
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
    • Occasional evening/weekend work to meet deadlines.
