Senior Internal Communications Specialist

BASIC PURPOSE: The Senior Internal Communications Specialist works closely with company business teams at all levels and is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications plans and programs to build employee awareness and understanding of our vision and strategic direction, communicate change management initiatives and strengthen our internal brand and culture. The ideal candidate has proven experience in implementing innovative internal communications campaigns with a passion for storytelling and employee engagement. This is a full-time position requiring occasional evening and weekend availability and some domestic travel.
 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and manage internal mobile app and intranet platform to prioritize content and streamline the experience for users
  • Identify strategies to increase adoption and retention rate for internal mobile app
  • Measure intranet and app usage and evaluate analytics and trends to build on channel and content strategies
  • Develop and deliver compelling content across the Love’s Family of Companies using digital internal platforms
  • Provide internal communications counsel to diverse groups within the organization and execute effective communications plans
  • Identify, leverage and integrate video and social media platforms and corporate intranet best practices that will increase the effectiveness of internal communications
  • Track, measure and present results of communications plans and programs
  • Facilitate regular meetings with internal partners to solicit feedback, validate content and brainstorm ways to improve the flow of information to corporate and field employees
  • Support change management and crisis response activities
  • Develop and coordinate communications for national fundraising campaign and employee award programs

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, communications or business-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in communications with emphasis on internal or corporate communications

       

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as evidenced by experience and writing samples
    • Experience using analytics tools to measure effectiveness of communications channels and plans/programs
    • Excellent project management skills with proficiency in creating thorough communications plans and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Experience developing creative, effective approaches to communications challenges
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate, build teamwork and trust
    • Demonstrated leadership skills to lead work groups and teams
    • Positive attitude and willingness to embrace change
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
