BASIC PURPOSE: The Senior Communications Specialist will brainstorm, plan and execute communication plans in support of key company goals and objectives. This role focuses on business segments within Love’s to positively amplify initiatives, drive customer traffic, influence culture and help retain talent.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support retail locations by overseeing construction and real estate communications, which includes travel stop openings and Love’s strategic remodel initiative.
  • Amplify services and solutions, including Gemini Motor Transport, RVs and other income initiatives.
  • Keep team members in the loop across the enterprise about events, safety and risk and IT.
  • Share Love’s story internally and externally by spotlighting the culture and team members who exemplify Love’s core values.
  • Develop and publish a wide variety of communications, including emails, newsletters, social posts, press releases, videos, reports, etc.
  • Develop strategic communications plans and execute tactics; ensure results reporting and analytics are considered.
  • Create content and support Love’s communication channels.
  • Work closely with IT and support teams to develop product launch campaigns and updates.
  • Coordinate, support and participate in Love’s company events and programs.
  • Innovate and develop channels and audiences to effectively target audiences.
  • Create reports and assess metrics for campaigns and communication efforts.
  • Be proficient in video content creation to lead, produce, and create videos that tell the Love's Family of Companies story, promote its products, and enhance the brand.
  • Passion for strengthening corporate culture and productivity while building a diverse workforce.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field required

Experience:

  • 8-10+ years of corporate communications experience or agency work
  • Outstanding content development and writing skills using AP style
  • Demonstrated experience in writing, editing, and creating content across all communication platforms and websites, leveraging digital communications management and analytical tools.
  • Media relations experience preferred

  • Outstanding written and verbal skills with the ability to craft messages and campaigns that quickly inform, motivate behavioral changes and mobilize team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AP writing style, strategic planning skills, collaborative and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience growing relationships and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business challenges and formulate communication strategies that support audience needs and business goals.
  • Inquisitive and quick learner that asks thoughtful questions, listens and applies insights.
  • Experience working with senior leadership to develop strategy and turn data-driven insight and feedback into measurable plans.
  • Proficient knowledge of video production, communication technology tools and platforms, etc.

      Typical Physical Demands:

  • Occasional evening/weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
