BASIC PURPOSE: The Scrum Master III role is to provide advanced leadership, coaching, and mentoring to multiple enterprise application development teams. This individual will coordinate the work of Agile development teams and oversee the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will facilitate Scrum activities, identify and resolve impediments, and ensure the team meets established goals and milestones. This role requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to handle complex issues and serve as the subject matter expert on Agile, Scrum, and project management processes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Function as Scrum Master for multiple enterprise application development teams.
- Serve as mentor, coach, teacher, and facilitator to develop self-organizing, high-performing teams.
- Work to remove impediments and keep the team moving forward without interruption or distraction.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies—sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, retrospectives, and feature planning.
- Work with Product Owners to help organize product backlogs, clarify User Stories and Acceptance Criteria, and understand technical implications and dependencies.
- Capture business requests and requirements in a product backlog. Translate business goals and requirements to Epics, Features, and User Stories. Author additional requirements artifacts and project documentation as needed.
- Create and maintain Sprint burndowns, key metrics, and dashboard reporting.
- Prepare and conduct presentations of project status/progress reports and product demos to various audiences.
- Learn the technologies, strategies, and analytic techniques used at the organization.
- Achieve an understanding of business process flows and system data flows.
- Apply standard project management methodologies to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new feature functional designs, functional requirements, limitations, and implementations of new initiatives.
- Continuously broaden capabilities to effectively apply Project Management/Agile techniques and improve coaching and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and encourage other team members to do the same.
- Identify the best project management approach to use depending on the team and nature of the project and effectively execute as project manager.
- Manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently across teams, technologies, and business areas.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifications preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of IT Project Management and/or Scrum Master roles with progressive responsibilities.
- 3+ years of professional experience in an application development team.
- Experience organizing work with Azure DevOps/VSTS or Jira preferred.
- Experience working in CRM tools (Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Knowledge of SDLC methodology.
- Agile methodology experience including Scrum.
- Project management expertise, leading large-scale, complex, high-value projects.

- Demonstrated ability to solve business problems with creativity.
- Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
