SCCM Specialist

Basic Purpose: The IT SCCM Specialist role is to plan, design, develop, and manage automated deployments through SCCM into the Love’s computing environment.  The successful individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve technical issues to create a secure and hassle-free computing environment.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Build deployment packages utilizing SCCM 2012 according to documented standards
  • Assist the Corporate Support team in testing of new patches, updates, applications, etc. prior to deployment
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of IT systems
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new deployments
  • Update documentation with known compatibility issues to prevent problem deployments
  • Work through existing Change Control processes to effectively communicate changes and minimize risk
  • Help the Project Manager and Corporate Support Supervisor produce and distribute communication to end users (when appropriate) regarding changes to their computers
  • Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and purchases
  • Document deployment processes to enable knowledge transfer among the team
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and technical goals
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Document and evaluate changes to existing technology environment
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and users to understand business critical systems
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

Education and Experience:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Associates Degree in the field of Computer Science/Management of Information Systems or 4 years of desktop/helpdesk support or SCCM experience required
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of hands on experience in Microsoft SCCM required
    • Experience working critical issues that affect multiple users
    • Knowledge of Modern management practice
    • MS Intune
    • Current Branch for SCCM
    • 5 years of hands on experience in Microsoft SCCM preferred

 

Skills and Physical Demands:

  • Hard Skills: Skills will vary depending on the specific team role, but would include knowledge of Windows operating systems, SCCM, SCOM, SQL, network components and operability, virtual and physical servers, Microsoft Enterprise Applications (Active Directory, Exchange, etc.), Microsoft Office expertise, etc.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, analytical aptitude, business acumen, client focus, problem solving skills and technical initiative are required.  A successful candidate should have excellent team-oriented interpersonal skills and work in a team environment.  Competently understands customer requirements; easily troubleshoots and solves problems with minimal supervision and direction; capable of researching and making fact-based, data backed decisions; skilled at developing relationships outside of IT.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
