SAP Payroll - Sr. Business Systems Analyst

BASIC PURPOSE: The IT Business Systems Analyst position will be responsible for supporting the configuration and maintenance of the SAP Payroll System and UKG Time and Scheduling System. This role involves working in a collaborative team environment to assist the payroll department and workforce management teams by understanding and adapting to new and evolving business requirements. 

 

  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Configure & maintain the SAP Payroll System 

  • Configure & maintain the UKG Pro Time and Schedule system (New Kronos) 

  • Collaborate with the Payroll and Work Force Management business teams to resolve any system issues, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues within the SAP Payroll and UKG systems 

  • Lead and participate in system upgrades, patches, and testing 

  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. 

  • Provide end-user training and support on SAP Payroll and UKG Time and Scheduling systems 

  • Support other systems as needed  

  • Collaborate with vendors and consultants to resolve complex system issues and implement new functionality 

  • This role requires expertise in SAP Payroll Configuration, specifically in wagetypes, infotypes, and gross to net pay 

  • Quickly understand business needs and translate that understanding into a form that leads to the creation and/or composition of better solutions 

  • Analyze and document as-is processes and design to be processes 

  • Discover process gaps and derive improvement potentials 

  • Analyze and reconcile issues with interfaces 

  • Perform job duties with minimal direction and supervision. 

  • Assist in Production support tickets and year end activities in SAP and UKG 

  • Assist with researching, reviewing, and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes. 

  • Act as a liaison with the Business and Corporate IT department to ensure optimal performance of the solution. 

  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for Business team providing expert level support for assigned business units. 

  • Develop process diagrams, use cases, and test plans. 

  • Perform system testing; facilitate user acceptance testing and application demonstrations. 

  • Perform other tasks as needed to deliver successful solution. 

  • Significant understanding of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business need. 
      

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science, MIS or Business. Equivalent experience and/or certification 

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of business analysis related experience, with a focus on SAP Payroll and HR technology solutions 

  • 3+ years of experience supporting or implementing either SAP Payroll or UKG Pro Time and Schedules 

  • 5 years of HR support experience 

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Understanding of Success Factors is a plus 

  • Experience with a scheduling system is a plus 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 

 

Typical Physical Demands: 

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. 

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. 

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. 

  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
