Risk Management Specialist - Systems & Analytics

BASIC PURPOSE: This position is responsible for fully investigating claims involving general liability, workers compensation, auto liability, product liability and property damage. This position also assists in the administration of a robust risk management system and the analytics of risk and safety data.



  • Communicate with customers, employees, managers, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather detailed facts of an incident.
  • Determine and evaluate injury/damages of each claim. 
  • Determine extent of liability and negotiate settlement with claimant if appropriate.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, adjusters, attorneys and other relevant parties.  Maintain consistent communication when necessary.
  • Develop a plan of action and monitor each claim.
  • Create reports for use in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as training presentations.
  • Analyze claims and risk data for cost containment opportunities
  • Assist in administration and future development of risk management system
  • Develop continual process improvement enhancements
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • College degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • Related experience may include claims, customer service, system administration, or data analytics
  • Skills:
    • Hard skills: Knowledge in Microsoft Office, the ability to conduct research using a variety of sources, bilingual a plus
    • Soft Skills: Excellent written/verbal communication, detail oriented, ability to prioritize projects, creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Requires the ability to communicate via telephone for an extensive amount of time daily.
