Payroll Representative

This position will be responsible for processing time and payroll for 18,000+ hourly-paid employees on a weekly basis.   

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process, review, follow-up, and correct time records.
  • Review payroll processing.
  • Research pay adjustments for accuracy before processing and verifying processing.
  • Set up direct deposit and pay card information.
  • Calculate payments for hours worked during off-cycle payrolls.
  • Process employee verifications.
  • Print and reissue W2’s when requested.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports.
  • Answer payroll questions.
  • Audit /log expense reports for Accounts Payable processing.
  • Bonus / Commission processing (balancing and data entry).
  • Federal, State, Local and School tax updates to employee’s records.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Other related duties in the payroll department.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma required.
    • Some college preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and escalate to management when appropriate.
    • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of employees.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with solid judgement and discretions.

       

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word.  
    • SAP experience a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Detail and deadline oriented, working with other employees, team work, organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and multi-tasking.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
