Merchandising Project Manager

BASIC PURPOSE: The Merchandising Project Manager will support the category management staff as a liaison between the category management staff, Merchandising Technology Team, and other departments within the organization. This individual will be responsible for designing, and maintaining the Category Management Planning Calendar, Budgeting Process, and Strategy to Execution Plan.



  • Design, and Manage Category Management Planning Calendar
  • Design, and Manage Merchandising Budget Process
  • Design, and Manage Merchandising Strategy to Execution Plan by utilizing operational, and Divisional Merchandising Manager Resources
  • Map current Merchandising processes, to automate, and improve Category Management/Operational processes
  • Map, and improve current Merchandising communication processes.
  • JDA Initiatives such as POG images, Floor Layout communication, Vendor Communications, Space Management Maintenance, Responsible for Layout Accuracy, and leading new initiatives
  • Leading supply chain projects to make improvements on current supply chain processes. 
  • Leading pricing and promotion initiatives to maximize profitability for our stores.
  • Utilize technology to promote change for Merchandising processes
  • Other Duties as Assigned



  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelors preferred
  • Experience:
    • Experience 3+ Years in Retail Category Management or Retail Process Management
    • Experience managing vendor relations a plus



  • Skills:
    • Hard skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Soft Skills: Stable work history, good oral and verbal communications skills, team player, keen attention to detail, self motivated, ability to work in a fast paced environment and strong analytical skills
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Scheduling flexibility.
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
      • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
      • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
