Merchandising Specialist

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Merchandising Specialist position is to be fully responsible for item and data integrity. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams (such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Space Management, and Merchandising Analytics) to execute strategic initiatives through data management, analysis, and collaboration. The Merchandising Specialist will manage item set up and item maintenance, as well as provide leadership in all areas related to item integrity.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Item Integrity and Maintenance

• Maintain item data integrity within the Love's Pricebook systems.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of retail pricing, cost, and item information setup.
• Manage promotion setup and implementation.
• Oversee daily reporting and resolve discrepancies related to item integrity.

Merchandising Strategy

• Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to develop strategies within the category.
• Manage and maintain vendor records within the Pricebook application.
• Assist in the identification and execution of category optimization by analyzing key metrics related to product selection, pricing, and promotional strategy.

Support Operations

• Respond to and resolve store level merchandising help desk tickets.
• Execute strategies and initiatives within Love's systems to limit potential impacts to Operations.
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience:
  • 0-2 years of work experience preferred
  • Experience in Retail preferred
  • Experience with technical developments or implementation a plus

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to make quick, proactive resolutions
  • Ability to multi-task in a complex and changing environment
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Scheduling flexibility
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
