**This is a hybrid remote/in-person position. **

 

BASIC PURPOSE: The Leave Assistant performs a variety of supportive tasks associated with the tracking and processing of Leave of Absences, which include FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and premium payment reminders.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in providing the highest quality customer service experience with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism. 
  • Assists all employees by handling questions, complaints, and inquiries via inbound telephone calls, voicemail messages and e-mail messages 
  • Helps resolve basic employee questions and problems to the customer’s satisfaction. Escalates issues as needed to the appropriate leave administrator. 
  • Helps provide documentation of employee incidents and resolutions in case records, emails, etc. in a proficient, accurate, and timely manner. 
  • Work with necessary team members on training and process improvement recommendations 
  • Assists Leave Administrators in the preparation of periodic meetings that affect employees and the organization. 
  • Other duties assigned as needed 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Some college a plus
  • Experience:
    • Administrative, at least 1 year in the Employee Benefits/Leave arena
    • Knowledgeable in FMLA, USERRA, HIPAA, ADA, ERISA, and the Affordable Care Act a plus
    • SAP and SuccessFactors experience a plus

 

      SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Must be computer proficient with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Good communication skills, detail oriented, well organized, flexible, able to perform multiple tasks, and
    • Collaborate with other team members, ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, as well as processes, ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, ability to synthesize rules, regulation, and legislation and apply to real-life situations, must have empathetic customer service orientation, including the ability to relate to employees and apply employee dispute resolution strategies, ability to maintain confidential information
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
