BASIC PURPOSE: The Leader Development Specialist is responsible for assisting with research, planning, and moderation of training events and special projects designed to develop leaders across the enterprise.  Assists in the execution and delivery of in-person, on-demand, virtual, and remote learning opportunities for all leaders. Assists in developing and designing training that improves leadership performance across the organization. Partners with the Leader Development team to ensure alignment of leadership and professional development skills to business and talent plans.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the design, development and implementation of in-person, on-demand, virtual, and remote development opportunities for all leaders while embedding inclusion and leveraging diversity for better outcomes.
  • Coordinates with key internal stakeholders to ensure the execution of all in-person leader development programs including Love’s University, Store Support Development Course, and Leadership Love’s University.
  • Partners with leaders across the enterprise to produce, revise, and deliver learning content aligned to business strategy and needs for all leader development programs.
  • Assists in the design and development of engaging content for delivery by self or others based on identified business needs using a variety of authoring tools and mediums.
  • Assist in the development and management of event timelines to meet deadlines.
  • Adapt class management techniques to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of learners.
  • Manage the scheduling and logistics for leader development programs.
  • Ensure administrative tasks and timely assessments for learning programs are completed to produce accurate reporting.
  • Follow-up with training participants to share information and resources and reinforce best practices for knowledge retention and application.
  • Research and share learning insights and solutions that promotes effective leadership development across the enterprise.
  • Possess a working knowledge of instructional design methodology and application for effective learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years in a training role preferred.
    • Training design and delivery experience preferred.

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard skills: Proficient with business software such as Microsoft Office.  Knowledge of Adobe products and eLearning software preferred.
    • Soft Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking. Good organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize while managing a continuous stream of work, ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail, ability to coach team members to achieve their highest potential.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
