Inventory Accounting Specialist

     BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Lead Inventory Accounting Specialist position is to be responsible for the flow of EDI transactions related to store payables and the financial integrity of inventory receiving and return transactions. The incumbent in this position will be the SME for ensuring the integrity of inventory valuation by assisting and supporting team members as needed when resolving inventory issues. Also responsible for the daily review and resolution of items appearing on the equalization report, responding and resolving issues reported to the receiver correction email and reconciling the unmatched report for assigned vendors. This position will be proficient in the flow of EDI files related to store payables and all transactions and software touching inventory valuation.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Item Valuation Integrity

  • Manage the daily export from Agility to SAP
  • Monitor and resolve all incoming EDI exceptions/error for SAP and Store Audit Application
  • Test EDI files for all new vendors
  • Facilitate the setup of all new vendors in agility and SAP
  • Department SME in all transactions affecting inventory valuation.
  • Complete receiver corrections to ensure accurate BOH and WAC.
  • Review and resolve receipts/returns with Equalization greater than $250.
  • Monitor and respond to Receiver Correction Email
  • Communicate with the Retail Specialist team, Supply Chain team and/or store to resolve the root cause of an incorrect WAC.
  • Assist with the review of the WAC > Retail and Unusual Change in WAC reports as needed.
  • Reconcile weekly recon clearing for assigned vendors to ensure timely resolution of open invoices and credits.
  • Monitor vendor statements for assigned vendors to ensure timely resolution of open invoices and credits.

Troubleshooting

  • Working with the EDI team resolve any errors with incoming EDI files as well as missing files.
  • Utilize analytics and applications related to inventory valuation to troubleshoot receiving issues resulting in a mis-stated WAC.
  • Assist with data integrity issues involving accounting procedures by working with Love’s Retail Specialist team and Supply Chain teams.

     Support Operations

  • Interface and build relationships with store IMC’s and Field Auditors.
  • Assist in testing and implementing new procedures or software upgrades.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments ranging from but not exclusive to: IT, Accounting, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Store Operations.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Degree Required in Accounting or related field
  • Experience:
    • Experience in Retail preferred
    • Accounts Payable experience preferred

 

     SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Intermediate knowledge of excel is preferred
    • Soft Skills: Stable work history, good oral and written communications skills, team player, keen attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to work in a fast paced environment and strong analytical skills
    • Knowledgeable of accounting functionalities, processes, and procedures from store level to corporate.
    • Utilize accounting experience to problem solve independently.
    • Capable knowledge, understanding, and empowerment to make decisions related to maintaining an accurate valuation of inventory
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Scheduling flexibility.
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
