BASIC PURPOSE: The landscape technician performs grounds maintenance work and helps ensure all corporate outdoor areas appearances are maintained and well-kept.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Completes routine landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Ensures safety by continuing to inspect all tools as well as understanding proper chemical handling. 
• Performs mowing, maintains grass, aeration, over-seeding, fertilizing, chemical application, planting seasonal color, prunes shrubs or flowers, and clears and maintains sidewalks or parking lots.
• Prepares plating beds with hand and power tools; integrates soil amendments; planting trees and shrubs.
• Inspect trees and landscaped areas for pest and disease.
• Prunes trees, shrubs and groundcovers.
• Performs snow and ice removal with hand tools and power equipment.
• May need to drive truck to transport employees, plants and trailer with materials/tools.
• Restriping parking lots as needed.
• Cleaning exterior windows.
• Communicates with internal & external customers, employees, vendors, and other relevant parties.
• Ability to communicate and execute proper safety practices with team related to job.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and methods of landscaping and maintenance of lawns and plantings.
• Ability to operate riding and push mower, edger, week trimmer, blower, sprayer, tiller, aerator, skid steer loader and basic hand tools.
• Participates in a variety of general equipment maintenance tasks.  Helps maintain vehicle, equipment, checks and tops off fluid levels and keeps equipment and trailer clean and orderly.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience:
  • 1 year of landscape related work with demonstrated team skills.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

• Skills:
  • Work with other employees, ability to foster teamwork, team player, detail and deadline oriented, multitasking, organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and keen attention to detail.
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in the following conditions: outdoor work environment, requiring frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for possibly eight hours or more.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
