Indirect Tax Administrative Assistant

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the tax research department team members in reaching the goals of the department, timely, and efficiently. This position will assist in all areas of the tax department as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retrieve and verify documentation to support tax research projects
• Create, distribute, receive tax exemptions
• Receive and distribute documentation, data entry of vendor licenses into fuel trading software
• Location data entry into fuel trading software
• Tax rate data entry into Fuel trading software
• Tax data set up in logistics software
• Monthly review of retail product categories
• Assist tax leadership and tax research analysts with special projects
• Log research analyst work tickets
• Take meeting minutes at team meetings
• Make recommendations for improvement
• Other duties assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business or similar preferred
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years in office setting preferred

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suit; operation of standard office equipment
  • Soft skills: Strong verbal and oral communication skills; keen attention to detail; self-motivated; the ability to work closely with coworkers
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
