Human Resources Business Partner

** This position is located in OKC and will require 3 days in office and 2 days remote**

BASIC PURPOSE: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role is responsible for providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organizational development strategies in support of business objectives. This role also provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The HRBP acts as an internal consultant to clients on a variety of human resource related issues
  • Assists in implementing and maintaining practices regarding the Company’s affirmative action strategy
  • Acts as an employee champion, a change agent and anticipates HR-related needs
  • Handles complex employee relations matters to include terminations, counseling, harassment allegations, work complaints, and coaching/documentation
  • Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, labor laws, standards, and regulations
  • Serves as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting issues, and helping resolve work-related problems
  • Handles employment claims such as unemployment, EEOC, DOL, etc. This includes handling all related investigations, coordinating with in house legal counsel and may prepare position statements.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and reports on trends
  • Manages ADA requests for respective client groups, including handling the interactive process, assessing paperwork, and working with management to determine an appropriate accommodation
  • Partners with Payroll; HRIS; and Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for clients
  • Supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management; merit and bonus awards; benefits enrollment; etc.
  • Monitors and evaluates headcount, turnover, and other relevant HR metrics
  • Recommends changes and monitors compliance laws for related practices and employee handbooks
  • Works with the business to provide HR and Affirmative Action related support on all applicable Requests for Proposals
  • Partner with corporate training to review and/or create content and deliver training
  • Partner with corporate recruiters to determine staffing needs and create and update job descriptions
  • Serves as back up for HR manager on a variety of HR projects
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or HR related field strongly preferred
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of progressive HR experience

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, HR specific software
    • Soft Skills: strong presentation skills, willingness and ability to learn from other departments, innovator, good verbal and written communication skills, strong time management skills, strong organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, ability to take constructive criticism and strong work ethic
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
