ETL Developer

As an ETL Developer for Loves, the successful candidate will be responsible for ETL and other data development work, primarily related to data migration activities, but could also include data warehousing and other data integration development.  Working under the DBA Lead, the candidate will be responsible for migrating source data to target systems with a high level of accuracy and improved data quality.  The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to collaborate and effectively work with other IT and business teams throughout all phases of the project.  Strong communication skills are also required when dealing with internal and external parties, including vendors and business partners.



  • Provide master and transactional data conversion and architectural input to program leadership for project teams to develop solutions that align with long-term data conversion strategy
  • Develop ETL processes using a variety of tools to satisfy project requirements for both data migration efforts as well as ETL work to build new data warehouse/data marts
  • Responsible for the identification and qualification of source data to satisfy master and transactional data requirements for the target application
  • Lead data assessment and mapping activities, and develop the underlying migration framework to extract, transform, validate, enrich, and load the legacy source data
  • Work with the functional team and business analysts to understand the business logic in the legacy and new systems in order to build the proper conversion logic
  • Define reusable solution architectures using standard modeling practices
  • Develop reports for pre-load and post-load data validation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to various levels in the organization



  • Required Experience:
    • 5+ years of ETL, data warehousing, and data migration projects
    • 5+ years of working with complex SQL code
    • 5+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2016 
    • 3+ years working with Microsoft SSIS
    • Extensive experience troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems
  • Preferred Experience:
    • SAP Data Migration experience a plus
    • SAP Data Services experience a plus
  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business with MIS or technology related degree (C.S.)



  • Skills:
    • Fundamental understanding of data migration methodologies
    • Fundamental understanding of data warehousing principles
    • Ability to understand impacts of a solution architecture on corresponding design, build, and test efforts
    • Capable of thinking big picture and sorting through an ambiguous environment
    • Ability to manage numerous competing demands in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
