Business Development Associate

BASIC PURPOSE: The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying and developing sales leads in the small to medium fleet sector which will generate new revenue and grow the Love’s Financial Solutions factoring business.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create new sales channels and business opportunities that increase business growth and market share. 
  • Identify and mine factoring prospects from internal and external sources and convert those prospects to clients.
  • Communicate with potential clients mainly via phone and email.
  • Maintain an effective closing rate by successfully selling the advantages and value of Love’s financial services/factoring services combined with the bundling and cross selling of other Love’s products and services. 
  • Work jointly with the internal factoring sales team and other Love’s groups (i.e. fuel sales team, tire care sales, etc.) to create and sell value added proposals to new customers.
  • Assist the Group Sales Leader in developing sales, marketing, networking strategies to drive new business. 
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Marketing, or related discipline or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in sales and/or business development preferred.
    • Experience in trucking, factoring or financial products/services preferred.

  • Skills:
    • Excellent phone skills.
    • Proven track record for generating sales and driving business growth. 
    • Able to articulate well.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills. 
    • Motivated, persuasive, and persistent.
    • Able to stay well organized with attention to detail; specifically, in reviewing contracts and documents.  
    • Adequate computer skills to maintain SAP CRM/C4C sales database.
    • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office products. 
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires some travel (typically, travel is required once per month or as needed).
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
