Associate Customer Loyalty Strategist

BASIC PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to support the planning & execution of digital customer marketing & communications for Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.



  • Manage and maintain the Love’s customer communication (e.g. Campaign Brief) set-up process, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of information.
  • Support the development & execution of email, SMS text, mobile app push, printed receipt messages, and other digital customer communications.
  • Participate in customer campaign planning, design, development, execution, and analysis sessions.
  • Assist in the development of additional customer engagement and acquisition marketing strategies, as needed.
  • Support copywriting for communication elements that align with various internal business units. Campaign types include, but are not limited to, loyalty, sales, customer acquisition, customer retention, and engagement campaigns for professional & casual drivers.
  • Assist in developing and executing proprietary customer and market research including surveys and other research initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain the direct customer communication calendar.
  • Work with graphic designers to create relevant and consistent graphics in conjunction with the electronic campaigns as needed.
  • Work with the Marketing Operations & Communications teams to assist in developing marketing strategies to support Love’s Loyalty team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of receipt messaging, POS prompts, and ATLAS store messaging as needed for campaigns and other customer communications.
  • Assist in writing marketing-related training materials in conjunction with the HR training department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the marketing department and the broader Love’s Family of Companies.



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, Public Relations or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Up to 1 year experience in marketing, campaign planning, copywriting, graphics coordination, customer-facing communications, and/or electronic communications delivery systems desired but not required



  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Strong verbal and oral communication skills, excellent writing skills, familiarity with standard writing style books (AP), familiarity with using brand style guides
    • Customer focused with an orientation towards data driven decision making
    • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, and flexible workstyle that allows you to work with various types of stakeholders
    • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple/competing projects
    • Integrity to present the truth in an appropriate and helpful manner and admit mistakes
    • Drive for results with a can-do attitude; pushes self and others to achieve bottom line results
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
    • Requires normal range of vision
