Ariba Procurement Specialist

BASIC PURPOSE: The Ariba Procurement Specialist will review and manage day to day tactile activities to service the overall Ariba Guided Buying functionality and may aid with strategic spend analyses.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Order review and approval in Ariba Guided Buying when required
  • Catalog review for accuracy related to current images, item descriptions, and negotiated item level pricing
  • End User Support for Ariba Guided Buying process compliance
  • Assist in onboarding, training and educating new vendors as needed related to catalog creation and revisions
  • Monitor and administer non-catalog requests
  • Monitor requisition approval process for Ariba Procurement group
  • Manage vendor inquiries of Ariba orders and ordering process
  • Provide support to Ariba Procurement Analyst and IT to implement and maintain configurations and data including authority hierarchies, catalogs, and changes to the system.
  • Participate in vendor negotiation and RFP support as directed
  • Conduct data gathering for spend analyses and reviews
  • Run, distribute and analyze Ariba reports; make recommendations as appropriate
  • Work with Ariba Procurement Analyst & SAP Procurement team to move items to Ariba as appropriate
  • Work with IT Help Desk to ensure a superior Ariba customer experience

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
      • High School Diploma required
      • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • Experience:
      • Procurement experience required.
      • Ariba procurement module experience preferred.

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
      • Hard skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required, experience with large scale accounting systems strongly preferred.
      • Soft Skills: Ability to learn new software applications and computer programs; ability to type efficiently and

accurately; comfortable handling multiple interruptions and adjusting priorities throughout the workday while meeting deadlines; ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with diverse individuals and to consistently handle interpersonal situations in a professional and respectful manner; excellent memory and organizational ability, and sufficient arithmetic skills to perform routine accounting and mathematical computations.

 

  • Typical Physical Demands:
      • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
      • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
      • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
      • Possible evening/weekend work
