Environmental Compliance Analyst

BASIC PURPOSE: The individual will be responsible for assisting with the management of all established environmental programs for Musket Corporation, Trillium CNG and Speedco. Some overnight stay with ground and air travel and work throughout the US will be required. Primary duties will include performing environmental regulatory compliance audits, training fuel and DEF terminal personnel, permitting and interfacing with local, state and federal regulators. This position will office out of the Musket Houston offices. Communicating with upper management routinely as to the progress of duties will be required.     

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Managing the Musket environmental programs that are already established including:

  • Scheduling regulatory testing for vapor combustion units and CP and tank systems   
  • Performs environmental compliance regulatory audits on fuel and DEF terminals
  • Prepares terminals for federal, state and local regulatory inspections
  • Provides env. training to fuel terminal and transload site personnel      
  • Setting up subsurface soil/groundwater sampling investigations
  • Manage current and develop new FRP, SPCC and SWPPP plans
  • Manage air permits and write applications for new air permits
  • Preparing Tier II, TRI and discharge monitoring reports
  • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
  • Interface with Musket business development team
  • Interface with federal, state and local regulators
  • Provide basic OSHA training to site personnel
  • Emergency spill response management
  • Maintain environmental data bases
  • Interface with various consultants
  • Oil/water separator management
  • Assist with Trillium CNG issues
  • Assist with SpeedCo issues
  • Obtain regulatory permits
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

 

  • Education: The ideal candidate must possess at least a BS degree in a hard science discipline such as environmental science/management, biology, chemistry, geology, ecology or an engineering discipline. An environmentally related professional designation is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: At least 2 to 4 years of experience in the environmental regulatory field is a must. The candidate should have experience in report writing and interfacing with federal, state and local environmental compliance regulators. Working knowledge of air permitting, SPCC and SWPPP plans, the clean air act, clean water act, RCRA and chemical analysis interpretation is preferred. Experience with emergency spill response, toxic release inventory and Tier II reporting is helpful.

Skills:

  • Hard skills: The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, planning, time management and follow-up skills. The skill set should also include good verbal and written communication skills and possess intermediate to advanced computer experience (Access, Excel, Windows, Word, Power Point), as well as the ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Soft Skills: The candidate must have a “professional” demeanor and an energetic “get it done” attitude. The candidate will be able to present to others individually and in a group setting. The candidate must perform with a sense of urgency. Periodic overnight travel will be required consisting of ground and air travel. Some heavy lifting may be required to access sump lids.
