BASIC PURPOSE: Role that directly contributes to the advancement and growth of Trillium and Love’s alternative fueling network. As a EV Portfolio Manager, you will use your expertise in the EV charging market to actively influence grant programs and policy that are being developed, identify high-value opportunities for existing and prospective customers, manage the EV charging network and portfolio, determine the best strategy to develop the network based on business acumen, potential risks, competition, state/federal goals, etc., work with the Grant Writing and Development Manager and the Grant Program Manager to respond to grant RFPs and solicitations, negotiate contracts for the grants that get awarded, work alongside the Contract Compliance team to ensure the organization is in compliance with all requirements, work with several stakeholders within the organization including, but not limited to commercial, engineering, design and energy strategy. He/she will also listen to the needs of and seek out opportunities and solutions to present internally and externally.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing and lead the execution of the organization’s EV charging strategy. This includes problem solving, reasoning, independent decision-making, analyzing, and running the EV portfolio in a manner that gives the organization the highest likelihood of success.
- Manage the EV charging portfolio which includes, but is not limited to, working with the store staff to operate the chargers and collect intel, managing the charge point operator, managing the uptime of the charging network, reporting on charging station performance
- Negotiate and execute contracts with grant administrator, fleet, and other 3rd parties.
- Lead the grant writing and development team to acquire grant money for the build out for the EV charging network
- Manage pre- grant award activities including response strategy, initial planning, budget forecasting, match share determination, proposal development, funding, engineering, and obtaining internal and external approvals
- Manage pre- grant award activities including grant compliance, design build, and operations.
- Work alongside marketing/communications to promote the organizations EV plans and network to customers and key industry stakeholders.
- Guide policy and legislation at the federal and state level that effect the organization’s EV charging business
- Set the price at the charger for the customer
- Determine the appropriate utility tariff
- Work with the Energy Strategy Manager to determine the best energy strategy for each station
- Gather market insight and competitive intelligence in the EV charging market
- Be able to gain and message a detailed understanding of the company functional capabilities at industry shows, client events or in the field selling.
- Play an ongoing role in managing customer expectations, ensuring changing customer needs are met, and assist in addressing any service and operations shortfalls.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Finance discipline preferred
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in managing a portfolio of EV charging stations is required
- 3+ years of experience strategizing for and reviewing, managing, and responding to request for qualifications, quotes and information, including grant solicitations, on behalf of the organization is required
- 3+ years of experience with contract execution and negotiation experience is required
- Extremely familiar with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, rules and regulations
- Experience within the performance contracting, renewable energy assets, engineering a plus
- Experience in the hydrogen, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), or Carbon offset industry is a plus
