BASIC PURPOSE: As a member of the Operations and Risk team, the Associate Commercial Analyst will be a multi-function position responsible for a variety of analytical activities associated with retail compressed natural gas operations, renewable natural gas operations, and fuel programs compliance. This will include analysis of existing customer usage and station performance, monthly reports, and contract administration and compliance. This person will have a demonstrated ability to simultaneously coordinate a host of complex tasks, to effectively communicate across P&L teams in a matrix organization, with senior management, and to customers. In addition, the Associate Commercial Analyst must be able to liaise with mid office, back office, and compliance personnel. This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in natural gas commodity price risk management portfolio through commodity procurement
- Assist in creation, distribution, and continuous improvement of monthly volume and station performance reports
- Perform analysis of customer and station performance statistics while proactively looking to identify and capture new business opportunities
- Communicate RNG Operations to Fuel Compliance Team for credit generation & ensure compliance (allocations, prorate, storage)
- Generate and Distribute RNG customer rebate invoices
- Work with the Account Management team, assisting in the development of new sales channels or products, along with the systems and processes needed to be successful
- Assist with efforts in working with in-house legal to create and review contracts and ensure all commercial terms and risks have been captured appropriately
- Perform analysis for other capabilities and business lines
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to implement them across multiple functional areas
- Assist Deal Structuring and Analytics team on various ad hoc projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
- Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in price risk management (preferred, but not required)
- 1-2 years’ experience analyzing data and creating reports (preferred, but not required)
- 1-2 years’ experience managing relationships with internal and/or external customers or accounts (preferred, but not required)
- 1 year experience conducting project and/or process management/improvement activities (preferred, but not required)
- 1 year experience working with contracts (preferred, but not required)
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products suite, and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.
- Ability to become proficient with customer relationship management (CRM) software; Sales Force experience preferred
