Income Tax Manager

BASIC PURPOSE: Act as liaison between income tax and other departments on various collaborative projects. Actively research tax planning opportunities for the Love families and companies. Research, analysis and compliance for the Love families and companies. Research includes federal and state income tax issues and other special projects as needed.  Compliance includes the timely completion and filing income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, annual reports and responding to any income tax notices received from tax authorities. 



The major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Proactively research and identify tax planning opportunities
  • Review income tax returns prepared by tax accountants
  • Prepare selected complex income tax returns and as well as quarterly estimates as needed
  • Review annual reports
  • Identify potential audit issues and other tax risks
  • Provide assistance to other departments as needs/opportunities arise including compliance and changing tax law
  • Train tax department staff on tax research and compliance software
  • Oversee day to day tax department staff functions, provide guidance and mentorship to tax staff
  • Research and capture available biodiesel income tax credits
  • Oversee maintenance of Workpaper Manager and Prosystem fx.
  • Represent the tax department on various task forces and committees
  • Work on special projects as assigned



  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • CPA licensed in Oklahoma or CPA candidate in Oklahoma
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years of public or corporate tax experience



  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, tax compliance software and online tax research, possess the ability to learn new software applications and programs
    • Specialized Knowledge: Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word; tax compliance software and online tax research; should possess the ability to learn new software application and programs
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Multi-tasking - ability to be available to the Love family, back office and operations and work in an environment of frequent interruptions  
    • Ability to work long hours as needed, especially during spring and fall tax preparation seasons
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
    • Occasional lifting to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
    • Possible evening/weekend work
