  • Reconcile discrepancies between third-party vessel data, AIS feeds, and internal records to maintain a reliable single source of truth.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and trends that may impact trading strategies or supply-demand dynamics.

System Stewardship & Automation

  • Serve as a co-owner of the internal vessel tracking system, ensuring reliability, usability, and consistency with trading and analytics needs.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to enhance automation of vessel entries, voyage status updates, and product classification.
  • Support integration of predictive data feeds and market intelligence into dashboards and reporting tools (Sigma Computing, Snowflake).
  • Maintain system documentation and contribute to a scalable support model through knowledge sharing and process standardization.

Trading & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a primary liaison between trading desks, analytics, operations, and IT to ensure tracking data meets real-time market and operational needs.
  • Translate trading and operations requirements into actionable data enhancements or process changes.
  • Support traders and analysts with ad hoc data queries, reports, and insights to drive market understanding and commercial opportunities.
  • Provide feedback on vessel data quality to external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in or exposure to energy trading, logistics, or refined products markets preferred.
  • Familiarity with vessel tracking platforms, AIS data, and maritime logistics systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify data/process inefficiencies and implement structured solutions.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong analytical mindset with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
