BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose is to manage Musket’s waterborne commercial operations for Refined Products and Renewable Fuels

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize and communicate voyage programming across Musket’s ocean-going and inland-waterway fleet (spot and time-charter)
  • Develop processes around chartering, loss-control, demurrage etc. to generate and preserve commercial value.
  • Maintain and develop key internal and external relationships including suppliers, customers, and terminal operators.
  • Ensure product quality control is consistent with commercial and regulatory handling requirements.
  • Communicate operational updates to all parties such as Mid-Office, Credit, and Senior Management 
  • Maintain constant communications about scheduling plans with traders, Mid-Office, Back-Office, and third-party personnel. Notify traders of potential scheduling conflicts and suggest ways to mitigate.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply management, finance, or relevant field experience required

Experience:

  • 10 + years minimum experience scheduling and executing marine operations.
  • 10 + years minimum experience in a trading environment handling logistics and transportation

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Intimate working knowledge around scheduling through various means of transportation
  • Expert knowledge with Incoterms 2010 / 2020
  • Experienced with different Refined Product / Renewable grades and specifications
  • Detail knowledge around common Charter Party formats and common marine GT&Cs
  • Letter of Credit formats and documentation requirements
  • Calculating/Estimating freight and other marine related costs
  • Solarc Right Angle knowledge is preferred
  • Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills, and innovative thinking

Typical Physical Demands

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
