This role works collaboratively with HR, IT, enterprise architects, development, security, and business stakeholders—as well as vendors and business partners—to translate complex business requirements into integrated solution designs within the HR application ecosystem, including SAP SuccessFactors and associated enterprise platforms. The Solution Architect II plays an essential part in ensuring technology solutions comply with established enterprise architecture standards, minimize complexity and technical debt, and promote sustained modernization and organizational growth.
Job Functions:
- Analyze complex business and HR requirements to design end‑to‑end technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards.
- Own solution architecture for medium to large initiatives, including system configuration, integrations (APIs, middleware, and data flows), and security considerations.
- Translate functional business needs into scalable technical designs and architectural blueprints.
- Evaluate solution options and trade‑offs, recommending designs that balance functionality, maintainability, cost, and risk.
- Partner with HR subject matter experts, business analysts, developers, and vendors to ensure solutions meet business and technical expectations.
- Provide architectural guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle, including build, testing, deployment, and post‑implementation support.
- Review system configurations, integrations, and technical deliverables to ensure adherence to approved designs.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, and data privacy standards.
- Create and maintain solution architecture documentation, including diagrams, integration/data flow designs, design decisions, and interface specifications.
- Support production issues related to solution design, performing root‑cause analysis and recommending long‑term corrective actions, including improvements to logging/monitoring and supportability.
- Identify opportunities to modernize systems, standardize and optimize integrations, and reduce manual processes and technical debt.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and HR technology modernization efforts.
- Stay current with platform capabilities and emerging technologies, recommending enhancements aligned with business and technology strategy.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5–7 years of experience in solution architecture, systems analysis, or enterprise application design.
- Experience owning end-to-end solution design for medium to large initiatives (from concept through implementation support).
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solution designs and architectural artifacts.
- Experience with enterprise HR systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) or comparable SaaS platforms in an integrated environment.
- Experience supporting HR, shared services, or employee service delivery technology environments.
- Hands-on experience designing or supporting system integrations (APIs and/or middleware).
- Experience supporting large-scale, distributed, or high-transaction environments.
- Experience contributing to technology roadmaps and modernization planning.
Skills:
- Hard Skills:
- Solution architecture and design across configuration, integrations, data flows, and nonfunctional requirements (security, performance, maintainability).
- Integration patterns and APIs (REST/SOAP), including authentication, data mapping, error handling, and basic observability concepts (logging/monitoring).
- SaaS platform configuration and environment management (e.g., release/config promotion and basic change control).
- Technical documentation and design governance, including solution diagrams, design specifications, and decision records.
- Implementation support, including test strategy review, defect triage, and deployment readiness.
- Security, data privacy, and role-based access concepts, including handling sensitive HR data in enterprise systems.
- Exposure to integration/iPaaS or middleware tools such as SAP PI/PO, CPI (HCI), or Boomi, and common integration approaches (API‑based, file‑based, and/or event/messaging where applicable).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong listening skills and openness to feedback.
