Software Engineer- AI and Energy Trading (Houston, TX)
BASIC PURPOSE: As a Software Engineer (AI) supporting Musket Corp.’s energy trade floor (specializing in refined products), you will design and develop advanced AI-driven tools that enhance trading performance, automate workflows, and unlock market insights. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
AI-Driven Trading Solutions
- Develop, deploy, and maintain AI and machine learning applications that support refined products trading strategies, including market forecasting, arbitrage detection, and price correlation modeling.
- Integrate AI models into trading tools and dashboards to improve decision-making speed, market visibility, and risk assessment.
- Design scalable applications that leverage real-time and historical data to support position management, inventory optimization, and trade execution efficiency.
Software Development & Systems Integration
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code across the full stack to build production-grade applications used by trading, analytics, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with analytics team to optimize data pipelines, integrate APIs, and enhance system performance.
- Implement solutions that interface with trading platforms, market data providers, and internal analytics environments.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with advancements in AI, machine learning, and data engineering, identifying opportunities to apply emerging technologies within trading workflows.
- Prototype and test new approaches to automation, data visualization, and predictive modeling that deliver measurable trading value.
- Partner with traders and analysts to translate business requirements into scalable, high-impact technical solutions.

EUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience in software development (front-end, back-end, or full-stack).
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.) and data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
- Exposure to energy trading, commodity markets, or financial systems.
- Experience integrating data from market feeds, trade capture systems, or real-time analytics platforms
