Settlement Accountant

BASIC PURPOSE: Manages the processes that ensure the accuracy of Musket settlements.

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Validate and settle AR & AP invoices for various Crude, NGL & Refined products daily.
  • Train on all Settlement Accountant desks to provide back-up as needed.
  • Process invoices for Freight and Bio daily.
  • Maintain daily ICG queues by printing newly added invoices that belong to Musket and rerouting Loves invoices.
  • Research unmatched transactions; direct as needed such transactions to mid-office to amend
  • Reconcile and clear cash, vendor and customer accounts in SAP.
  • Deal with invoices and journal entries in multiple currencies.
  • Create and maintain processes for all settlement desks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years’ experience in accounting or finance

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and ability to learn new software.
    • Experience with SolArc RightAngle and SAP is a plus.
    • Experience with VAT and VAT invoicing requirements is a plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Team work, time management skills, and an ability to be detail oriented also required.
    • The need to deal with a great diversity of people, and the possibility of occasional evening and/or weekend work.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
