Fuel Programs Compliance Analyst- RINs (Houston, TX)

    BASIC PURPOSE: This position manages and monitors regulatory requirements for fuel and environmental credit transfers and submits or analyzes necessary reporting, as well as the coordination of staff that transfers and reconciles environmental credit transfers.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain RIN/environmental credit inventories via deal tracking and processing transfers
  • Monitor and process RIN sales and purchases and scheduling the movements in SolArc Right Angle (SRA) trade system
  • Reconcile SRA balances for RINs and state credits to credit accounts and resolve any discrepancies with external counterparties
  • Assist with compiling federal and state regulatory program reports and attestations for US EPA, CARB, and EIA as assigned
  • Other compliance duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience required
    • Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in the energy industry preferred
    • Accounting background is a plus
    • Productive knowledge of SolArc Right Angle software

     

       SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, eMTS, and understanding of EPA regulations as it relates to fuels and RINs
    • Soft Skills: Work with other employees, team player, detailed, and deadline oriented, multitasking, organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
