BASIC PURPOSE: Manage corporate development initiatives and structuring strategies across all Love’s business units under the leadership of the Director of Corporate Development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage highly confidential information which would have an immediate impact on the company and counterparties if shared beyond its intended audience and relevant company management.
- Create strategies and structuring alternatives for acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other complex commercial arrangements.
- Collaborate with financial analysts on valuation and forecast models related to corporate development opportunities.
- Identify, develop and manage internal and external sources and market opportunities to attract new customers and generate business development opportunities.
- Manage partnership and acquisition activities, including serving as deal lead or deal team member as assigned: identify opportunities, perform due diligence, build valuations and forecasts, and support negotiations and business integrations.
- Seek, develop, and maintain internal and external networking relationships and partnerships which generate understanding of the corporate development process, deal flow and new business growth, including working with business units to develop strategic business and integration plans.
- Manage overall team performance as assigned which may include staffing, goal setting, performance evaluations, development, and providing training and direction for direct reports.
- Requires occasional travel for corporate development opportunities and conferences.
- Other additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline complimentary to corporate development or equivalent experience required.
- CPA, CFA, Master’s Degree and/or Law Degree or above preferred.
- Experience:
- 8+ years experience including managing teams, corporate development exposure or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years in deal structuring, negotiation, and documentation preferred.
- Experience in transportation, retail, downstream or alternative energy, or financial products/services preferred.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong research and negotiation skills – motivated, persuasive, persistent.
- Adept at analyzing transactions and companies to determine value and optimal deal structure.
- Demonstrated keen ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Well organized with attention to detail; specifically, in reviewing proposals, contracts and documents.
- Computer skills, including heavy use of Microsoft Office products.
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
