Fixed Assets Staff Accountant I
Welcome to Love's ! Our Fixed Assets team is looking for a Staff Accountant I to account for companywide capital expenditures, including project accounting, invoicing, and reporting. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for communication with internal customers and completion of special projects.
Job Functions:
- Basic understanding of SAP and other company software and platforms
- Create basic journal entries for monthly close, regular account review, recurring entries and other accruals
- Perform basic month end close duties to ensure accurate and timely close
- Basic understanding asset classes and useful lives for all entities in the company
- Learn and understand all company entities and their purpose
- Perform basic fixed asset tasks in creating assets, creating projects, placing projects in service, transferring assets, and disposing of assets
- Create, update, and distribute reporting timely and accurately (1-2 reports monthly)
- Create, update, and distribute workpapers timely and accurately (1-2 workpapers monthly)
- Review and make independent decisions regarding invoices to determine if they meet capitalization criteria
- Work with internal customers to make appropriate reclasses and place projects in services
Experience and Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA is a plus
- 0-2 years relevant work experience preferred
Skills and Physical Demands:
- Hard skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel
- Soft Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills; ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player
Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
