Role Overview

 

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial and strategic direction of Love’s Family of Companies. This leader serves as a trusted advisor to executive and operational leadership, translating strategy into actionable financial insights, integrated plans, and performance management frameworks that drive profitable growth.

 

This role combines strategic vision, analytical rigor, and strong business partnership. The Director will lead and scale a high-performing FP&A organization, set enterprise-wide standards for financial analysis, and elevate the quality, consistency, and impact of decision support across the company.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Value Creation

  • Partner with senior executives and business leaders to help define the company’s strategic direction and support key growth, capital allocation, and operational initiatives.
  • Translate corporate and business-unit strategies into integrated financial plans, long-range forecasts, and scenario analyses.
  • Provide forward-looking insights that identify risks, opportunities, and trade-offs, enabling faster and better-informed decisions.

 

Enterprise FP&A Excellence

  • Establish and continuously improve enterprise-wide FP&A best practices, standards, and cadences for forecasting, performance management, and reporting.
  • Define, implement, and track meaningful KPIs that connect operational performance to financial outcomes across each business within Love’s Family of Companies.
  • Drive consistency, quality, and efficiency across financial models, analyses, and executive deliverables.

 

Business Partnership & Executive Influence

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to operations, commercial teams, and functional leadership.
  • Distill complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations tailored to executive audiences.
  • Proactively challenge assumptions, surface insights, and influence outcomes through fact-based storytelling and strong executive presence.
  • Evaluate M&A and organic growth opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.

 

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and scale a high-performing FP&A team with strong analytical, communication, and business acumen capabilities.
  • Establish clear roles, expectations, career paths, and development plans to attract, retain, and grow top talent.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA, CFA, or comparable advanced credential strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles, including significant people leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive decisions through insights, not just analysis.
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and performance management.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial information to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and adaptability to adjust approaches as business needs evolve.
  • Technological proficiency with financial systems, reporting platforms, and analytical tools; ability to leverage technology to enhance insight generation and decision support.
