Regional Supply Coordinator

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary function of the Regional Supply Coordinator is to procure the most cost efficient and reliable supply for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with a network of fuel suppliers in a designated territory
  • Develop and implement fuel procurement strategies to secure the lowest cost fuel in the market
  • Monitor Nymex and other market tools daily to make optimal fuel buying decisions
  • Conduct tactical market and data analysis for use in supply procurement
  • Optimize fuel supply portfolio (Supply Optimization).
  • Monitor supply contracts for compliance and performance
  • Coordinate with trader when strategy is to liquidate Musket inventory and ensure execution
  • Relay local market intel to trader and marketer
  • Collaborate with Logistics in locating best supply point/cost during supply disruptions or arbitrage opportunities
  • Verify fuel supply availability via supplier portals and other forms of communication such as email, IM and phone calls
  • Update Smart Buy system (TelaPoint) with terminal outages, changes in strategy, allocations and supplier outs, etc.
  • Review Daily Fuel Margin report and Scorecard to identify opportunity loss. Formulate action plan to capture opportunities

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Education:
    •  Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years’ experience in supply and logistics (preferred)

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

Business Process Skills:

 

  • Ability to evaluate contractual supply agreements
  • Petroleum industry and supply chain knowledge (preferred)
  • Knowledge of fuel pricing and contract mechanics such as PLATTS, OPIS and ARGUS
  • Understand market timing and fundamentals that move rack prices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel

 

General Skills:

 

  • Strong communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills and innovative thinking

 

Typical Physical Demands:

 

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
  • Travel may be required
