DEF Scheduler

BASIC PURPOSE: Schedule Urea Liquor and Dry Urea into DEF Production Terminals, and outbound DEF via trucks to 3rd party customers to minimize costs, grow wholesale books and maintain inventory levels.



  • Manage all facets of inventory in & out of Musket DEF terminals which supply Love’s stores and supports 3rd party sales
  • Maintain supply at terminals by scheduling rail cars of Urea Liquor and rail cars or trucks of dry Urea, and communicating with the terminal operation teams accordingly
  • Maintain a daily inventory log of each site and rail cars in transit
  • Communicate between plants/Musket rail team/terminals
  • Learn the DEF blending process
  • Set up new 3rd party customers, new 3rd party terminals and new Musket terminals internally with the SRA, SAP and Fuel Operations teams
  • Communicate with wholesale 3rd party customers on all order requests
  • Process 3rd party customer sales orders, and book 3rd party freight where applicable
  • Communicate to Gemini through Telapoint to schedule loads hauled by Gemini, and include setup, pricing, and sourcing sheets
  • Maintain list of Love’s store volumes/demands, and 3rd party sales volumes by terminal
  • Become proficient in Toptech systems for terminal ordering processes, and any 3rd party managed terminal software
  • Maintain historical trends to gauge potential forward purchases
  • Other duties assigned as needed



  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of energy experience, physical fuel preferred



  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, & SolArc Rightangle
    • Soft Skills:  Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills, and innovative thinking.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
